Returns, Exchanges & Cancellation Policy

At Gemjohri, eligible loose gemstones include a 7-day return or exchange window. Custom-made jewellery is final sale once delivered, except where noted below.

Loose Gemstones

Within 7 days (168 hours) of delivery, you may return an eligible item for a refund of the product price paid, or exchange it for another eligible item on our website. Extensions, if any, are at Gemjohri's sole discretion.

Eligibility

  • The exact item delivered by Gemjohri must be returned, unused and unaltered.
  • The gemstone must not be mounted, resized, recut, polished, or otherwise modified.
  • All original contents must be included: invoice, packaging, certificates, documentation, gifts, and any discount coupons sent with the order.

All returns are inspected by our quality control team. Returns are not accepted for damage due to neglect or improper use. We may refuse a return if the item is damaged, altered, substituted, misused, tampered with, or does not match the weight, dimensions, imaging, and other characteristics documented before dispatch.

Wrong or defective items

If you receive the wrong item, visible damage, or a manufacturing or material defect, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos or video. We recommend recording an unboxing video when you open the package.

Refunds & charges

Refunds cover the product price paid only. The following are not refunded:

  • Shipping and return shipping charges
  • Payment gateway fees
  • Tax/VAT, customs duties, and import taxes
  • Optional third-party certification charges

Approved refunds are processed within 10 working days to the original payment method. Your bank or card issuer may take additional time to reflect the credit in your account.

Return shipping

  1. Contact us with your order details—we will confirm your return and provide the return address.
  2. Pack the item securely and ship via an insured, reputed courier.
  3. Share tracking details with us once the package is dispatched.
  4. You remain responsible for the item until Gemjohri receives and accepts it.

Custom Jewellery

Made-to-order jewellery is final sale once delivered—not eligible for return, refund, or exchange.

Exceptions apply only if:

  • The wrong item was shipped, or
  • There is a verified manufacturing defect attributable to Gemjohri.

Report such issues within 7 days of delivery with photos or video. We may repair, replace, or refund after inspection. Normal wear, accidental damage, third-party resizing, and customer alterations are not covered.

Cancellation

  • Orders cancelled before production or sourcing begins may qualify for a refund after deducting any costs already incurred.
  • If production, sourcing, certification, or custom work has already started, applicable making charges, sourcing costs, certification charges, or labor costs may be deducted.
  • Certification charges are non-refundable once ordered.

International Orders

Please be advised that due to logistical challenges and cross-border policies, we do not accept returns or exchanges on international purchases.

If the wrong item was shipped or a manufacturing defect is verified, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos or video and we will assist you.

FAQs

When does the 7-day return period start?

It starts on the day the item is signed for on delivery, as shown by our courier records, and ends 168 hours later.

Can I return only some stones from a multi-stone order?

Yes. Eligible loose gemstones may be returned individually within the 7-day window.

Can I return a gemstone after setting it elsewhere?

No. Mounting, resizing, polishing, or any third-party modification voids eligibility.

What if packaging or certificates are missing?

Full refunds require all original contents. Missing items may reduce refund eligibility or result in store credit at our discretion.
